Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan - Office Design
OTPP approached us with a clear vision for their new office space: to create an environment that reflects their professional, innovative, and welcoming brand ethos, while striking a balance between functionality and aesthetics. They wanted a design that would foster collaboration, offer versatile spaces for meetings, and provide stylish areas for relaxation, all while supporting wellbeing and sustainability.
The Design
Our design focused on light, openness, and versatility. Located in a bustling central London setting, we maximised natural light through large glass windows and walls, creating an airy, open feel throughout the office.
Reception Area & Lounge
The reception area is the heart of the office, blending modern aesthetics with warm, inviting tones. Mustard and beige seating provides a pop of colour while complementing the neutral palette of the space. Feature lighting and elegant wooden accents offer a contemporary yet welcoming first impression for visitors.
Collaborative Spaces
A key focus was creating flexible meeting areas, ranging from intimate rooms for private discussions to larger boardrooms equipped with the latest technology. The boardrooms feature clean, modern lines and soft colour palettes that promote a calm and focused atmosphere. Acoustic panels and textured wall features help reduce noise, contributing to the sophisticated environment.
Breakout & Social Spaces
The breakout area, located near the lounge, offers comfortable seating and a communal bar space, encouraging informal collaboration and offering a relaxed environment for employees to unwind. The kitchen area blends functionality with a calming design, inviting people to gather.
Biophilic Elements
Biophilic design principles were incorporated to promote wellbeing, including potted plants throughout the office and views of the outside greenery, creating a strong connection to nature.
Boardrooms & Private Workspaces
The boardrooms and private workspaces prioritise functionality and privacy, featuring modern technology and ergonomic furniture. Natural materials like wood and stone add warmth, balancing professionalism with a more organic feel.
The final result is a stunning, functional workspace that has been well received by OTPP staff and visitors. The balance of open, light-filled spaces with more intimate areas for focus offers the perfect environment for collaboration and productivity. Feedback from OTPP has been overwhelmingly positive, with the office exceeding expectations in comfort, design, and functionality.
This project has successfully captured OTPP’s brand identity in a physical space, creating an environment where innovation, collaboration, and productivity can thrive.
