A welcoming and inclusive space enabling every employee and visitor to maximise wellbeing and productivity.
The project for Allwyn Entertainment on Level 3 of The Burlian is a testament to Maris Interiors’ ability to create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, sustainable, and inclusive. It’s a workspace where employees can thrive, supported by an environment that adapts to their needs and reflects the values of Allwyn Entertainment.
A Vibrant Workspace for Innovation
Allwyn Entertainment, a leading multi-national lottery operator, sought a new London headquarters that would embody their commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion. Maris Interiors was tasked with creating a vibrant and functional workspace on the third floor of The Burlian at 80 New Bond Street, Mayfair. The result was a space that not only reflects Allwyn’s brand values but also fosters a stimulating and inclusive environment for their employees.
Flexibility in Design
To accommodate future growth and changes, the office layout incorporates modular furniture and wide, open spaces with no fixed elements. This flexibility reduces the need for frequent redesigns, minimising material waste and supporting Allwyn’s sustainability goals. Employees can easily reconfigure the space to suit different workstyles and team sizes, enhancing productivity and collaboration.
Sustainability and Durability
Durability was a key consideration in material selection. High-grade, sustainable materials were chosen for their longevity and environmental impact. For instance, the bespoke carpet from Milliken, a leader in sustainable flooring solutions, is made from 100% regenerated nylon. The design also includes recycled polyester fibre (PET) in the acoustic panels, contributing to a circular economy.
We are very proud to say that, following the completion of this project, Maris Interiors was awarded the Ska Gold Certificate for Sustainability.
Incorporating Neurodiversity and Wellbeing
Maris Interiors designed the space with inclusivity in mind, surpassing basic accessibility requirements. Adjustable lighting options, sound-absorbing materials, and quiet zones cater to neurodiverse individuals, ensuring a comfortable environment for all. A dedicated wellbeing room provides a private space for meditation, relaxation, or personal practices, supporting mental health and fostering a sense of inclusion.
Technology Integration
Seamless technology was a priority in the design, with smart building systems integrated to enhance energy efficiency. Automated lighting, temperature controls, and occupancy sensors contribute to a sustainable operation, reducing wasteful consumption while maintaining a pleasant working environment.
Biophilic Design
Biophilic design elements, such as strategically placed greenery, enhance the workspace by reducing stress and improving air quality. The use of plants in collaboration spaces and corridors creates a connection to nature, which has been shown to boost productivity and wellbeing. This focus on employee wellness is further supported by the inclusion of a multifunctional wellbeing room.
