The Challenge

Create a modern, inviting office space that accommodated hybrid working while reflecting Roland Berger’s professionalism and heritage.

The Solution

A minimalist, technologically advanced office design that seamlessly blended collaborative and flexible workspaces with Roland Berger’s brand identity.

The Result

A sophisticated, five-star office environment that perfectly supports Roland Berger’s growth and hybrid working model.

Roland Berger, a prominent German management consultancy firm, sought to expand their UK office space as part of their growth strategy.

Following more than a decade at their Baker Street location in London’s West End, the firm secured a larger floor within the same building. Their goal was to create an environment that not only reflected their professionalism and heritage but also supported the evolving hybrid working culture.

Roland Berger chose Maris for this project due to our deep understanding of their vision, culture, and the ability to execute high-quality fit-outs efficiently.

Expanding and Modernising

The main challenge was to design and build a contemporary office space that welcomed both team members and clients while accommodating the flexibility required for hybrid working. This expansion came at a time when businesses were redefining workspaces in response to the pandemic, making it crucial to create an environment that felt secure, inviting, and conducive to modern working practices.

Modern Minimalism and Technical Precision

To achieve Roland Berger’s vision, we designed a space that prioritised modern minimalism and functionality. The design featured clean lines, a marble reception desk, and contemporary timber cladding with intricate joinery. The incorporation of strategically placed plant life added a touch of nature, enhancing the overall environment.

The reception area seamlessly flowed into the office space, which included collaborative areas, pods, rooms for video calls, and agile spaces that provided flexibility for remote working. With a global client base, it was essential to integrate advanced technology into the design, ensuring the office could support the firm’s international operations. Additionally, we focused on ergonomic furniture to promote wellbeing in the workplace.

A Smooth and Efficient Process

The 12-week construction period was executed without incident, thanks to meticulous planning and anticipation of potential challenges. The primary obstacle involved remedial works to update an outdated air conditioning system, ensuring the office met the highest standards for a modern workspace. Despite these challenges, the project was completed on time, resulting in a five-star office environment.

A Growth-Driven, Five-Star Workplace

The completed office space for Roland Berger is a testament to their ongoing commercial success and commitment to providing a high-quality working environment. The modern, minimalist design not only reflects the firm’s professionalism but also creates a space where team members and clients feel welcomed and inspired. The integration of flexible, collaborative areas supports the firm’s hybrid working model, ensuring the office remains functional and adaptable.

Roland Berger’s choice to work with Maris was validated by the final outcome—a sophisticated, growth-driven workplace that received five-star ratings from the client. The new office not only meets the firm’s current needs but is also poised to support their future growth and success.
