BPP University
A fast-paced university expansion delivered within a live teaching environment through careful planning, flexible delivery and precise coordination
3 Floors
18 Weeks
120,000 Sq Ft
The Challenge
BPP needed to expand into two additional floors and introduce a new connecting staircase, all within a reduced 10-week programme. The work was carried out while classes continued seven days a week, requiring careful control of noise, safety and disruption throughout.
The Solution
We maintained close, ongoing coordination with the university to align works with class schedules and building use. The programme was structured with built-in contingencies, including out-of-hours working, to minimise disruption and maintain progress across all areas.
The Result
The project was delivered on time and to a high standard, allowing the university to bring the new space into immediate use. Students and staff now benefit from expanded, well-organised teaching spaces that support daily use with ease.
BPP University is a leading provider of professional education in the United Kingdom, with a strong focus on law, business and finance. The institution is known for its emphasis on employability and practical learning.
Their London campus needed to expand in line with growing student demand while maintaining a high quality and fully operational learning environment.
Designed for Planned Growth
The building had been planned for phased occupation from the outset. We previously delivered the lower floors, allowing this next stage to build on an established design approach and a clear understanding of the building.
Operating Within a Live Teaching Environment
Classes continued throughout the programme, with activity across all seven days of the week. This required a carefully controlled approach to noise, access and safety at all times. Close coordination with the university ensured works were aligned with class schedules, allowing progress to be maintained without disrupting daily activity.
Flexible Teaching Spaces
The new floors were designed to support a range of teaching styles and class sizes. Large classrooms were introduced alongside flexible layouts that allow spaces to be adapted as needed.
Folding walls and clear planning maximise the use of each area, giving the university the ability to respond to changing demand while maintaining a consistent and practical teaching environment.
