Celebrating self-care
From yoga by the Tate to in-office massages, it's International Self-Care Day

Today (24th July) is International Self-Care Day, stressing (ironically) the importance of self-care as the cornerstone of wellness. The day is a reminder for us all to build wellness into our routines, rather than relegating it to an hour at the end of a busy day or hoping to make up for it on high days and holidays.

At Maris, we quite literally aim to build wellness into the everyday experiences of our teams and our clients. In every workspace and educational environment that means considering things like the flow of the space, the colour, the natural light, the air quality, the acoustics and the inclusion of details such as plant life for wellbeing support. In some spaces, we have the chance to go the extra mile with dedicated wellness areas like the one at JTI complete with massage chairs.

With that in mind, for us Self-Care Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate some core values with our own people. Thanks to our own location in London, we’re going to take some time out today for a 60-minute yoga class.

We’ve also got two professionals offering 15-minute massages in our office throughout the working day – all team members need to do is put their name on the sign-up sheet at our in-house coffee shop, Foam.

Namaste everyone!
